JAMMU, Aug 3: In two separate orders issued today, Government accorded sanction to the re-constitution of Industrial Advisory Committee (IAC) for effective implementation of the State Industrial Policy and constitution of Task Force for expediting the settlement of rent/compensation in favour of Industrial establishments occupied by the Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPFs)/security agencies.
According to an official order, Governor of J&K will be Chairman of the IAC, Administrative Secretary, Industries & Commerce will be Member Secretary while Advisor (V) in-charge, Industries & Commerce Department, Chief Secretary of J&K, Administrative Secretary, Finance Department, Administrative Secretary, Planning, Development & Monitoring Department, Administrative Secretary, Labour & Employment Department, Administrative Secretary, Forest, Ecology & Environment Department, Administrative Secretary of PDD, Administrative Secretary of Revenue Department, Administrative Secretary of Information Technology Department, Administrative Secretary of APD, Chairman of State Pollution Control Board, Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, J&K, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, Joint Secretary, DIPP, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, president, Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI), Kashmir, president of CCI Jammu and president, Federation of Industries, Kashmir, president, Federation of Industries, Jammu and a representative of Confederation of Indian Industries will be Members of the Committee.
“The IAC shall have the mandate to suggest measures for ease of doing business, creation of an enabling environment for the development of industry in the State and discuss various demands raised by the Industrial associations from time to time”, the order read.
It further said that the Committee, with the approval of the Chairman may co-opt any officer (s)/non-official (s) in its deliberations as special invitee (s). The Committee will be serviced by the Industries & Commerce Department and shall meet once in three months.
According to another order, the Task Force created for expediting the settlement of rent/compensation cases of Industrial Establishments occupied by the CAPFs/security agencies comprised of Principal Secretary to Government, Home Department as Chairman and Administrative Secretaries of Finance, Industries & Commerce and Public Works (R&B) departments as three members.
As per the order, the Home Department, in consultation with Industries & Commerce Department shall put up all pending cases before the Task Force, which shall look into the genuineness of the rent/compensation assessed in favour of such Industrial Establishments as per the prevalent rates and take necessary steps to settle these cases in a time bound manner.
