Govt must abolish caste based reservation: GCPFJ

JAMMU, June 24: General Category Peoples Forum (GCPFJ) has urged upon the Modi led NDA Govt to abolish caste based reservation system in the country.
In a meeting of the General Category Forum held here today under the leadership of Raj Kumar Banathia, chairman of the Forum the members discussed the problems being faced by the general category people.
While addressing the members Banathia alleged that members of the General Category have been ignored and never go whatever they deserved. Due to caste based reservation, they have suffered a lot. Due to political exploitation, the caste based quota system is being extended for the last many decades.
Banathia strongly demanded abolition of caste based reservation in the country which is discriminatory. He favoured reservation on economic basis.
Yash Pal Sanson, president of the Forum demanded correction of the injustices pertaining to the marginalisation of general category people. He said continuation of caste based reservation in the coujtry for the last over 70 years of Independence is against the basic principles of equality and justice. He strongly protested against Anubhav Sinha’s film Article 15. He said Brahman Samaj has been protesting against this film strongly. This film is purely against Brahaman community.
VK Sharma vice president, Dr Bansi Lal, Som Nath Sharma ( gen secy), Bhushan Pargal and Deepak Khajuria also spoke on the occasion.
