SRINAGAR, Nov 19: Recalling the contribution of late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah in introducing education for all, land to tiller and other welfare and developmental programs in J&K and making every effort to build a progressive, productive and developed State at par with other States of the country, Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone said mission of the Sher-e-Kashmir is being carried forward with renewed vigour by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The Minister stated this while addressing a gathering at Srinagar today.
Mr Lone reiterated the commitment that National Conference will ameliorate the lot of people, especially those belonging to underprivileged sections and living in remote areas. He referred to the revolutionary initiatives taken by the present Government in making the administration responsive to public needs besides transparent and accountable.
On the occasion, Minister for CA&PD and Transport, Chowdary Mohammad Ramzan, Provincial President National Conference and MLA Amira Kadal, Nasir Aslam Wani, Provincial Secretary, Showkat Ahmad Mir were also present.
Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan while addressing the gathering said that Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will usher era of peace, progress and development in the State.
Nasir Aslam Wani also spoke on the occasion and cautioned the people in general and National Conference workers in particular against divisive forces and asked them to work for cementing the bonds of brotherhood between various communities.
He asked the party workers to prepare for the major challenge in 2014 and generate awareness among the people about the programmes and policies implemented by Omar Abdullah led Government for their economic emancipation and overall development.
