Govt failed to provide security to Pandits: APMCC

JAMMU, July 13: All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) today criticised the State Government for its failure to prevent attacks on Kashmiri Pandits in Valley where minority camps are being subjected to severe stone pelting, sloganeering and other means of intimidation.
In a statement, APMCC general secretary advocate Arun Kandroo deplored the BJP-PDP State Government’s attitude towards Kashmiri Pandits after the killing of Burhan Wani where instead of reaching out to the community the Government not only filed FIRs but also threatened those who were seeking help from the Government.
Warning the Government of serious consequences over such attitude, he said that the BJP-PDP Government has miserably failed to provide security and create a sense of security to Pandits living in Valley.
Referring to the tweets of APMCC Chairman Vinod Pandit who was stuck inside a temple to which Government had threatened to lodge an FIR, he said that on one hand Government rescued him from the same temple along with some families but on the other it casted aspersions on his presence in Kashmir.
He said if he was not inside the temple whom did the Government rescue late night on July 9 under tight security.
Meanwhile, AMPCC has also castigated the attitude of the so called civil society of Kashmir and other human rights organisations who spare no time in shedding tears over the anti-national elements but chose to remain silent on Pandits plight whose quarters and other properties were subjected to severe stone pelting during past four days.
