JAMMU, June 10: Making aware about the new pattern of examination (MCQ) recently announced by University of Jammu due to COVID-19 pandemic, various Government Degree Colleges of Jammu province today organised “Inter-Collegiate Quiz Competitions” for college students.
Department of Business Administration of Govt Degree College Ramnagar today organised a national level online competition on “Commerce and Management Studies” wherein about 200 students from the various colleges and universities including JNU, IGNOU, Shree Chandra Babu Jain College Minjur, Bareilly College, Shree Sai College of Engineering and Technology, BHU and LPU participated.
The event was organized by Prof Shiv Kumar, Head department of Business Administration (Convener), Prof Mushtaq Ahmed (Organising Secretary) and Prof Ram Krishan, Assistant Professor of Botany (Coordinator) under the supervision of Dr Udhey Bhanu, Principal of the College.
At the end of the competition, e-certificates were distributed among participants who secured more than 60 percent marks. More than 90 students got e-certificate during the quiz competition.
Government Degree College Akhnoor organised online “Inter-Collegiate Quiz Competition for 6th semester students of Physics in which 110 students from the various institutions of Jammu division participated.
The quiz competition was conducted by Prof Kuldeep Kumar under the supervision of Principal Dr Namarta. She said that such mode of competition will help the students for their preparation in the final examination. Students who got 60% marks or more were awarded e-certificate after the completion of the event.

The purpose of the online quiz was to engage the student community constructively during the COVID-19 pandemic and to make aware undergraduate 6th semester students about the new pattern of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) recently announced by University of Jammu for the conduct of terminal examinations.
Students of 16 colleges across the UT of J&K participated in the event with great zeal and enthusiasm. Naina Devi of GCW, Parade bagged 1st position, Arun Kumar of GDC, Hiranagar and Aman Kumar of GDC, Bishnah secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. The event was conducted by Dr Bandana Thakur, Head of Department of Hindi. The overall competition was organised under the supervision of the College Principal, Dr Surinder Kumar.
