JAMMU, June 9: GNN Hockey Club and Poonch XI registered convincing victories as the league stage of the GNN Jammu Hockey League concluded on a high note, setting the stage for the upcoming semi-finals.
In the first match, GNN Hockey Club outclassed Sahil Hockey Club by 5-0 with a dominant display of teamwork, disciplined defence and sharp finishing. Tejveer Singh was named Man of the Match for his outstanding contribution to the victory.
In the second encounter, Poonch XI continued their impressive run by thrashing Shaheed Bhagat Singh Hockey Club by 6-0. Displaying attacking flair and complete control throughout the contest, Poonch XI left little room for their opponents to recover. Harmandeep Singh earned the Man of the Match award for his remarkable performance.
The matches were graced by Dr Gurmeet Singh Reen, who appreciated the efforts of organisers, coaches and players in making the tournament a success. The semi-finals will be played on June 10. Bandhu Rakh Hockey Club will face Hiranagar Hockey Club at 4:30 pm, while Khalsa Hockey Club will take on GNN Hockey Club at 6 pm for a place in the final.
