JAMMU, Mar 10: A minor girl today made an abortive attempt on her life by hanging herself at her residence in RS Pura area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, the girl identified as Bhupinder Kour (16) daughter of Gurdev Singh, a resident of Dewangarh (RS Pura) today tried to end her life by hanging self with the hook of a ceiling fan at her residence but the incident was timely noticed by the family members, who immediately rushed her to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for treatment.
The concerned police said that they had taken cognizance of the matter but could not say immediately why the girl took this extreme step.
