Ghagwal Police foils bovine smuggling bid, rescues 12 animals

SAMBA, Oct 13: Ghagwal Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid early this morning and rescued 12 bovine animals.
As per reports, a Police Party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SI Rajeshwar Singh, SHO, Ghagwal under close supervision of  Tanveer Ahmed, Dy.SP Hqrs, Samba, during vehicle checking at Naka Tapyal, signaled a truck bearing Regd. No. JK02AE-5455 to stop, which, was coming from Kathua side.
On seeing the Police, the driver tried to flee from the spot but after chase the driver abandoned the vehicle at Jatwal and escaped from the spot. During checking of the vehicle, 12 bovine animals were found laden inside the vehicle, which were being transported illegally without any permission.  The vehicle and the bovine animals were seized and a case FIR No. 92/2017 U/S 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, 183/MV Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation is going on to nab the driver.
The drive against the bovine smuggling in the district has been launched by district police Samba under the proficient directions of the Anil Magotra, SSP Samba.
