JAMMU, Nov 1: GGM Science College registered a thrilling win by 1-wicket over MIET, YCET got the better of PG Arts JU in an easy contest by 6 wickets in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education at Jammu University ground, here.
In the first match, MIET won the toss and set a target of 126 runs for GGM Science College in the stipulated 20 overs. Sohaib Wani and Owais contributed 32 and 25 runs to the total respectively. Hitesh took 3 and Arun 2 wickets for GGM Science College.
In reply, GGM Science College reached the target in the 20th over by losing 9 wickets, thus won the match in an exciting contest by 1 wicket. Manik, Hitesh and Rahul contributed 25, 24 and 22 runs respectively. Sohaib Wani and Sohaib Idrees took 2 wickets each.
In another match, YCET defeated PG Arts University of Jammu by 6 wickets. Batting first, PG Arts bundled out for 77 runs in 15.3 overs. Pankaj and Shivam scored 17 runs each, while Manjeet contributed 16 runs to the total. Suryadev took 3 important wickets, while Mashqoor and Waqar claimed 2 wickets each for YCET.
In reply, YCET chased the target in 15 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Waqar (25) and Faizul (21) were the main contributors. Umar, Hritik and Shivam shared 1 wicket each for PG Arts JU.
The matches were officiated by Saleem-Ur-Rehman, Sadiq Hussain Malik, Suresh Singh, Raman Kumar, Raj Kumar Bakshi and Vinod.
