NEW DELHI, Nov 2: Before boarding the return flight after successful three-day India visit, German Chancellor, Angela Merkel was presented a photo – album depicting the activities and itinerary of her India visit.
The photo – album was presented to Angela Merkel, on behalf of the Modi Government, by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh who led the Indian team which was present at the Palam airport to officially see off the German Chancellor when she left New Delhi this afternoon.
The album, in the form of a souvenir, depicts large size photographs beginning from the moment Angela Merkel landed on the Indian soil on October 31 up to the last engagement of her itinerary.
Angela Merkel, who is known to have high mutual regard for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, also held one-to-one meetings with Modi, in addition to a series of bilateral sessions involving several other Ministries.
In total, 22 bilateral pacts, covering various sectors, were finalized during the German Chancellor’s stay in India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel called upon all countries to work towards uprooting terror infrastructure, disrupting terror networks and reigning in movements of terrorists. At the Biennial Summit, India and Germany also discussed free trade agreement with the European Union.
Just before leaving for Palam airport today, Merkel also paid a visit to Indian Metro railway.
