JAMMU, Aug 6: A meeting of General Category People’s Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of Raj Kumar Banathia to discuss the socio-economic and political problems being faced by the people.
Speaking in the meeting Banathia said that Government has failed to come to the expectations of the people in improving electricity and water supply, health, educational facilities and to check the corruption.
He said that J&K Government has earned a bad name by imposing heavy taxes and tolls and has failed to take due cognizance of worries of the people.
Yash Paul Sanson, Forum president said people are facing economic hardships because of Corona virus and heavy tax levied by the Government.
He demanded that State Subject certificate holders be exempted from Domicile Certificate.
Som Nath Sharma, Forum General Secretary stressed for total abolition of reservation and sought special support measures for the upliftment of economically and educationally backward families.
V.K. Sharma Vice President demanded equal laws and equal rights for all citizens to end discrimination.
Deepak Khajuria, Kuldeep Raj Verma, Dr. Bansi Lal and Bhushan Pargal were also present in the meeting.
