Gen Kaul bestowed Gandhi Global Award 2020

JAMMU, Oct 20: Gen (retd) Tej Kaul has been bestowed the coveted Gandhi Global Award 2020.
The Executive Committee of Gandhi Global Family of Jammu and Kashmir announced the annual awards for selfless social services towards humanity in J&K for the year 2020.Gen (retd) Tej Kaul has been bestowed the coveted Award for his outstanding contribution to various humanitarian causes, especially for his efforts in relief and rehabilitation during the current COVID Pandemic in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
Gen Kaul was responsible for 150 relief and rehabilitation camps up to October 2, this year in J&K.
The Award was presented to him while celebrating the 91st birth anniversary of Padma Vibhushan, Dr Nirmala Deshpande on October 17 this year. The Award also considers his overall contribution to the social causes as the Advisor -Harijan Sevak Sangh (HSS) founded by Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, patron Snehbandhan an organization formed to support the Ex-Servicemen in J&K, Patron Kashyap Social Foundation established by Kashmiri community , Mumbai, Board Member – Citizens Council for a Better Tomorrow, , Mumbai, and patron , Shri Sanatan Dharam Shital Nath Ashram Sabha, Shital Nath Srinagar, Kashmir.
He (Gen Kaul) is also Board Member of Akhil Bharat Rachnatmak Samaj (ABRS) founded by Late Nirmala Deshpande.
Gen Kaul has held critical and command assignments in J&K and Punjab during the peak of militancy there including Command of an Infantry brigade and Infantry Battalion. He has also served the Assistant Military Secretary at Army Headquarters, Deputy Director General , Military Intelligence- Foreign Division and General Officer Commanding Maharashtra , Gujarat and Goa area.
Gen Kaul has the honour to be the first officer from Officers Training Academy, Chennai to be bestowed the nation’s highest honour of distinguished services of most exceptional order namely the PVSM (Param Vashisth Seva Medal). He has also been awarded with AVSM (Ati Vishist SevMedal) by the president of India besides a Commendation Card awarded by the General Officer Commanding in Chief, Northern Command for the distinguished services of the most exceptional order to the nation.
He has also been bestowed Saraswati Award for humanitarian and social services by Kailash Math, Maharashtra. He is the Executive president of India-Pakistan Soldier’s Initiative for Peace.
