MENDHAR, Dec 18: Government Degree College (GDC) Mendhar today released 3rd edition of college magazine titled “The Images” in its premises in a simple but very impressive function which was attended by all the students of the college and faculty members.
The programme was presided over by Dr Javaid Ahmed Qazi, Principal, GDC Mendhar, while Prof (Dr) Ajeet Angral, Nodal Principal, GGM Science College Jammu, was the chief guest and Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Lone, Principal, Government Degree College Surankote, was the guest of honour.
During the first session of the programme, an extension lecture was delivered by Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Lone, in which he focused on the career of the students and how to prepare for the competitive examinations.
Prof Mohd Sadeeq from the Department of Chemistry, GGM Science College Jammu, also interacted with the students and pressed upon them to do hard work in this age of cut throat competition.
During the second session of the programme, the chief guest along with other dignitaries released third edition of the college magazine “The Images”. While addressing the gathering he appreciated the college management and students for bringing out this flare of writing in the shape of magazine which reflects the keen interest of college management of this far flung area. He further exhorted upon the students to get maximum benefit from the teachers which are the makers of the destiny of the students.
In his presidential address, Dr Javaid Ahmed Qazi appreciated the college faculty and the students for their write ups and hard work they did for the college magazine.
Among the faculty who attended the programme included Prof AA Choudhary, Dr Mohd Azam, Prof Javed Manzoor, Dr Mahroof Khan and all the Lecturers and Teaching assistants of different departments.
The proceedings on the stage were conducted by Prof Sarshad Hussain and vote of thanks was presented by Prof Shokit Hussain.
