GDC Kathua wins Inter Collegiate Volleyball title

JAMMU, Oct 18: Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua outplayed GDC Banihal by (3-1) sets with set scores 19-25, 25-13, 25-23 and 25-13 in the final match of the ongoing Inter Collegiate Volleyball (M) Tournament 2019-20, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at University Volleyball court, here.
Earlier, in the semi final matches, GDC Kathua beat GDC Udhampur by (3-0) sets with set score 25-21,25-19, 30-28, while GDC Banihal trounced GDC Poonch by (3-1) sets with set score 23-25, 26-24, 25-12, 25-18.
Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu awarded the winning trophy and medals to GDC Kathua and GDC Banihal alongwith Romesh Sharma, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid and Vikas Karlopia.
The matches were officiated by a technical panel of VFI Qualified Referees including Amit Sharma, Amarjit Singh, Mulkh Raj, Manik Nargotra and Shubham Sharma.
Meanwhile, in Inter-Collegiate Volleyball, PG Arts will take on GDC Kathua in the summit clash.
In 1st semifinal, PG Arts beat GCET Jammu by (3-2). The 1st goal was scored by Mussa in 10th minute, while the 2nd and the 3rd goals were scored by Ankush and Shivam in 30th and 35th minutes of the match.
From GCET, Jammu, the 1st goal was scored by Azaan in 50th minute, while the 2nd goal was scored by Pranav in 55th minute.
In another semifinal, GDC Kathua beat GDC Hiranagar by (4-0).
The matches were officiated by Suresh Gupta, Rahul Sharma, Dheeraj Menia, Dil Bahadur, Rahul Ghai, Ajay Singh and Gagan Kumar.
