*Semis line up drawn in Volleyball

JAMMU, Oct 11: Inter-Collegiate Judo, Kabaddi and Volleyball Tournaments, being organized by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu were played at Gymnasium Hall and sports stadium of the Varsity, here today.
In Inter-Collegiate Judo Championship for Men played at Gymnasium Hall, GDC Kathua emerged overall champion by gaining 24 points, while GDC Paloura remained runner-up with 16 points.
In 56 kg category, Robin Singh of GDC Kathua and Gulshan Kumar of MAM College bagged gold and silver medals respectively, while Rajat Sasan of GDC Rajouri and Ashwani Kumar of GDC Paloura secured bronze medals.
In 60 kg category, Nirbhay Singh of MAM College and Amit Singh of GDC Kathua clinched gold and silver medals respectively, while Paras Sharma of GDC Hiranagar and Sahil Kumar of GDC Rajouri bagged bronze medals.
In 66 kg category, Virbhadar Singh of MIET, Rahul Sharma of GDC Kathua and Vishal Bhasin of GDC Rajouri clinched gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 73 kg category, Akshay Choudhary of GDC Paloura and Shashnak Baru of GCET bagged gold and silver medals respectively, while Arjun Dev Jamwal of GGM Science College and Johnu Sharma of GDC Kathua secured bronze medals.
In 81 kg category, Sajan Sharma of GDC Paloura, Jyotier Aditya Singh of GDC Kathua and Saksham Sharma of GDC Rajouri bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 90 kg category, Abhishek Chowdhary of YCET and Sangram Singh of GDC Kathua clinched gold and silver medals respectively, while Vikrant Kangotra and Navdeep Singh of GGM Science College secured bronze medals.
In 100 kg category, Shubam of GGM Science College, VivekVerma of GDC Kathua and Shazad Ahmed of GDC Rajouri bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In above 100 open category, Atul Sharma of GDC Paloura and Ajay Singh of GDC Kathua bagged gold and silver medals respectively, while Rahul Sharma of GDC Hiranagar and Rahul Chander of GDC Rajouri secured bronze medals.
The bouts were officiated by Arshi Nad, Vikas Dogra, Suraj Bhan Singh, Virender Sharma and Pankaj Sharma.
In Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi Championship for women played at Gymnasium Hall, Government Women College (GWC) Gandhi Nagar defeated GDC Kathua by 55 points (66-11), whereas in the second match, PG Department beat Government Women College Parade by 3 points (41-38).
On the occasion, Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu interacted with the participating players from nine different affiliated colleges.
The matches were officiated by Dheeraj Sharma, Keshav Singh, Amandeep Singh, Harpreet Singh, Rohit Kumar and Gagan Kumar.
In Inter Collegiate Volleyball Championship for women played at sports stadium of the University, semis line up has been drawn. In the first quarterfinal match, GCW Parade defeated GDC Udhampur by 2-0 sets, whereas in the second quarterfinal, GDC Poonch got walkover, in third quarterfinal, PG Department outplayed GDC Hiranagar by 2-0 sets and in the fourth quarterfinal, GWC Gandhi Nagar beat GCW Udhampur by 2-0 sets.
Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion and witnessed the quarterfinal matches in presence of Prof Shonima Malhotra, Suman Lata, Prof Kamaljeet Singh, Anil Kumar, Sudesh Bhagat, Dr Vinod Bakshi, RavishVaid, Jai Bharat and Vikas Karlopia.
The matches were officiated by Amit Sharma, Mulkh Raj, Naresh Kumar and Romesh Singh Jasrotia.
