JAMMU, Feb 16: Govt. Degree College Akhnoor lifted the inter-collegiate Kabaddi (Women) tournament title by defeating JU’s PG Department by 9 points.
The tournament was organized by the Director of Sports and Physical Education University of Jammu at University Ground. In the finals, GDC Akhnoor defeated PG Department by 37-28 points.
Earlier, in the semi-final matches, which were played between GDC Akhnoor and GCW Parade as well as PG Department and GDC Billawar. GDC Akhnoor beat GCW Parade by 14 points (25-11) and PG Department trounced GDC Billawar by 20 points (31-11).
Dr Daud Iqbal Baba Director was the chief guest on the occasion along with Vimal Kishore, Ravish Vaid, SumanSharma and Harinderpal Singh.
The matches were officiated by Dhiraj Sharma, Keshav Singh, Amandeep Singh and Gagan Kumar.
Meanwhile, on the 3rd day of inter-collegiate Volleyball tournament, the semifinal matches were played, wherein in men section, GDC Reasi beat GDC Udhampur by 2-0 sets (25-18, 25-14), GDC Khour trounced GDC Poonch by 2-0 sets (25-12, 25-13), GDC Kathua defeated GDC Khour by 2-0 sets (25-11, 25-10) and GDC Reasi got the better of GDC Samba by 2-0 sets (25-18, 25-17).
The matches were officiated by the technical panel of experts including Mulkraj Sharma, Anil Sharma, Parvinder, Shubam Sharma, Manik Nargotra and Vikas Karlopia.
