Ganga launches development works in Bari Brahmana

SAMBA, Dec 12: To boost infrastructural facilities in Bari Brahmana, Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today inaugurated upgraded lanes and drains facilities at Ward No. 10 in Bari Brahmana being developed at a cost of Rs 3.80 lakh.
Ganga also kick-started the improvement work of lane and drain at Ward No 11, Kabir Nagar to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 7.58 lakh and construction of a community toilet complex at Bari Brahmana to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 10.50 lakh. The funds for community toilet complex would be met by Municipal Committee Bari Brahmana and works will be executed and further maintained by the Sulabh International.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Government is committed to provide better infrastructural facilities to the people, especially in the remote and far flung areas with special focus on road connectivity, power and water supply, medicare and education. A number of innovative initiatives have been taken in this direction for which the results will be visible on ground soon, he asserted.
Maintaining that the Government is focusing on making the State open defecation-free, the Minister said that Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) will be implemented in letter and spirit to achieve its objective. He directed the officers to step up the awareness campaign under the SBM and persuade the people to develop the toilet units in their homes.
He sought the support of the locals for maintaining environment neat and clean by managing the garbage in a systematic manner in their localities.
