Four die in 2 road mishaps

JAMMU, May 22: Four persons were killed today in two separate road accidents, one occurred near JMC Crossing in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bus Stand and another at village Channu Chak on City outskirts.
According to the reports, a school bus bearing registration number JK02BF-7261 being driven in a rash and negligent manner by Parshotam Kumar son of Kunna, resident of Lower Chowadhi (Sainik Colony, Jammu) from JP Chowk towards Indira Chowk, hit a motorcycle (bearing registration number PB10FG-8396) coming from opposite side near JMC crossing.
In the mishap which occurred at around 2 pm, the bike rider identified as Jahangir son of Mohd Sharif, resident of Upper Thathar (Jammu) died on the spot whereas pillion rider namely Snobar Mansoor daughter of Mansoor Ahmed, resident of Bantalab (Jammu) succumbed to her injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu where she was shifted for medical treatment.
In this regard, a case FIR Number 35/2023 under Section 279/337/304-A/IPC was registered in Police Station Bus Stand and further investigation initiated. The bodies of the both the deceased were sent for postmortem.
Meanwhile, a Mahindra Mirazzo car bearing registration number JK02CL-9000 hit a motorcycle (bearing registration number JK02AM-4361 at around 7:30 am at village Channu Chak in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kanachak. In the mishap, two persons identified as Mohd Noor son of Yousuf, resident of Lalyal and Mohd Noor son of Sain, resident of Jaswal, who were travelling on the bike, received serious injuries. They were rushed to GMCH Jammu where they were declared as brought dead by the doctors.
In this connection, Kanachak Police had registered a case under relevant section of law and further investigation started while bodes of both the deceased were handed over to their legal heirs for last rites after getting their postmortem done at GMCH Jammu.
