JAMMU, Jan 23: Bhupinder Singh (SSP Rtd) and a social worker visited Magowali Village (RS Pura) and interacted with the locals of the area.
During the interaction, he met with the group of vegetable growers and farmers and listened to their problems very patiently. The farmers expressed their displeasure that they are not getting quality seeds, fertilizers and pesticides and purchasing quality inputs like seed, fertilizers and pesticides at much higher price than the actual Government price.
The farmers further stated their demands were not taken into account while preparing the relief packages and the awareness regarding the new schemes was also fairly low. “The ceasefire violations and shelling are not only making the people leave their homes but severely hamping agricultural operations causing economic stress to border people”, they said, adding, “there is an urgent need for creation of Suchetgarh block so that block level incentives may be extended to their areas”.
The farmers were apprised that their issues will be taken up at the appropriate Government level and all efforts will be made to re-address their problems.
While addressing the farmers, Mr Singh said that Government cannot ignore farmers as they are the important part of the Indian as well as State economy.
