Former CJ of HC passes away in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Former Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Mian Mufti Jalal Uddin passed away here today.     He was 92.
According to family, Mian Jalal Uddin breathed his last at his ancestral residence at Baghat-e-Barzulla in the city outskirts.
A large number of people joined the Nimaz Jinazah  of Mian Jalal Uddin.
Jalal Uddin did his MA in Economic and later LLB from Aligrah Muslim University in 1939.     He joined as advocate in Jammu and Kashmir High Court in 1941 and joined  joined freedom movement.
He represented J and K in all India States Peoples Conference at Udaipur in 1945.     The Court arrested during Quit Kashmir and later joined the judicial service.
He remained associated with several panels.     He served as Chief Justice from from February 15, 1978 to February 22, 1980 before his retirement. (agencies)
