Folk dance among seven other events keep JU campus charged

JAMMU, Jan 17: Folk dance was among seven other events organized on the third day of 30th North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival that kept the University of Jammu campus charged.
During folk dance competition, Anjali Sharma, Director Doordarshan Jammu was the chief guest. The event was adjudged by three eminent judges HG Roy, Randhir Kumar and Mayura Deshpande (Dance expert).
A parallel session of competition was organized in the Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium, where Light Vocal (Solo) competition was held.
Prof Devanand, Vice-Chancellor, Central University was the chief guest on the occasion. This event was adjudged by Dr Prakash Chandra (Indore), Dr Sandhya Rani (Bareli) and Dr Sharbari Banarjee. Nineteen Universities participated in this event.
The competition of debate was held at seminar hall of TBS. The event was adjudged by judges of national repute Jaydeep Das (Nagpur), Dr Heppish Shephard (Chandigarh) and Dr Parmod N Pabrekar (Mumbai). The event was hosted by Chetan Ghai and Tabassum Inqlabi. Twenty-three Universities participated in this event.
The poster making competition was held at DSW Seminar Hall. Twenty-two Universities took part in this event. Dr Shivender Singh, Associate Prof from Agra, Dr BN Singh, Dean Fine Arts, Faculty, Darbangha and Manoj Chopra, artist from Jammu acted as judges for the event. Environmental Pollution and Women Education were the themes for the event.
In the afternoon sessions three events namely one act play, classical vocal (Solo) and collage making took place at different venues. One Act Play was held at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu. The event was divided into two days. Nine teams participated on day one.
Rakesh Gupta, Principal Secretary to Governor was the chief guest and Prof RD Sharma, Vice-Chancellor presided over the event.
Classical Vocal event was held at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu. Fourteen Universities participated in this event.
The collage making event was held at DSW, University of Jammu. Eighteen Universities took part in this event. The topic given to the participants was “World Peace or a Landscape from Regional Background”. The event was judged by Al Nasir (Jammu), Dr Shivender Singh (Agra) and Dr BN Singh (Darbangha).
The event Teacher Incharge included Dr Vivek Sharma, Dr Suvidha Khanna, Dr Kavita Suri, Dr Satinder Kumar, Dr Shashi Prabha and Dr Garima Gupta.
One Act Play, Folk Orchestra, Group Song Indian, Skit Competition, Elocution Competition along with Clay Modelling and Installation will be held tomorrow.
