JAMMU, Nov 1: Heritageans witnessed a mesmerizing performance by Pt Rajendra Prasanna, Flute and Shehnai maestro from ‘Banaras Gharana’. He is the proud recipient of Uttar Pradesh ‘Sangeet Natak Academy Award’, Grammy Award certificate among many other awards.
He has been a top grade artist with All India Radio and is presently working with National school of Drama.
Pt. Prasanna was accompanied on the tabla by renowned Lalit Kumar Ji.
Both the honoured guests enthralled the audience by their aesthetic approach and powerful renditions combined with a unique blend of fluency and melody. The musical extravaganza ushered in the emotion of tranquillity and enchanted the audience throughout. It truly conveyed ‘Music speaks a thousand languages’.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by the welcome address. It has been a constant endeavour of SPIC MACAY, headed by Dr Sapna K Sangra, State chairperson and Dr Seema Rohmetra, coordinator, Jammu Chapter to form a connect with the students by bringing them in close proximity to Indian art, culture and music. The students thoroughly enjoyed the mesmerizing recital. The programme came to a close with a formal vote of thanks.
Mementoes were presented to the guests as a token of appreciation from Heritage family.
Meanwhile, Jodhamal Public School witnessed a mystical flute recital by Pt. Rajendra Prasanna, who was accompanied on tabla by the famous Tabla maestro Shri Lalit Kumar ji. The Programme was organized under the aegis of SPIC MACAY Jammu chapter under the supervision of Dr. Sapna Sangra and Dr Seema Rohmetra Programme at Jodhamal was compared by little Karmanya Wahi of Grade 7th who mesmerized the audience with his oratory skills.
SPIC MACAY performance for the promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst the youth was organised at GD Goenka Public School Jammu, governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust. Pt. Rajendra Prasanna, the renowned flute maestro, enthralled the audience with his mesmerizing flute renditions. Shri lalit Kumar, famous Tabla artist shared the stage with him.
The highlights of the programme were Raag Charokashi, flute instrumental solo performace with Tabla, Jugalbandi in Raagas, showcasing Banarsi Arg with some special effects of Tabla and harmonising voices of flute.
The Goenkans sang patriotic song, Saare Jahaan Se Achha, Raag Kirwani, light bandish titled ‘Teri Aaradhna Karoon’.
The function reached its point of culmination with the devotional song Vaishnav Jan toh Tene Kahiye’ sung by talented Goenkans in sync with the divine notes emanated from the flute of Pt. Prasanna.
