Five independent councilors of Udhampur join BJP

UDHAMPUR , Nov 18: Five councilors of Udhampur Municipal Council (UMC) owing allegiance to former Minster and MLA Udhampur , Pawan Gupta today formally joined the BJP at a function which was attended by senior BJP leaders including former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, Party general secretary, Narinder Singh and vice president, Pawan Khajuria. MLA, Udhampur Pawan Gupta was also present in the function.
Headed by Dr Yogeshwar Dutt Gupta Councilor from Ward No 12, all these councilors joined the party under the leadership district president, BJP Udhampur, Rakesh Gupta and pledged to work for strengthening the party in the district.
In his address Dr Gupta said that he decided to join the BJP after he was impressed by its public welfare programmes. He said it has been proved that it is the BJP only which is concerned for the welfare of the society and country as a whole and no one else.
The other councilors who joined the party included Kush Pachyala, Subash Kumar Gupta, Anil Arora and Santosh Kumari.
They said that they are already impressed by pro peoples and pro nationalistic policies of PM, Narendra Modi and from today they will leave no stone unturned in taking PM’s and Party’s policies and programmes to every nook and corner of Udhampur.
Addressing the function former Deputy CM, Kavidner Gupta said BJP is working as a family. He said their joining in the party is a good signal for coming Lok Sabha elections because every person of the country wants to see that Narendera Modi should continue as PM for next term also.
Addressing the function BJP vice president, Pawan Khajuria said BJP is a popular political party and every body wants to be associated with it. The BJP is not the largest party in the country but in entire world, he added.
Khajuria said in the uncertain conditions it is only BJP whose activists don’t lose their heart and face all challenges boldly.
He said the new entrants in the party should understand the public welfare and pro-poor polices of the party and also make people to understand their benefits.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP general secretary, Dr Narinder Singh said that BJP councilors are getting full support of the people and the party has also registered success in Kashmir for the first time.
The leaders of BJP from Udhampur and party councilors were also present on the occasion.
It may be recalled that Dr Yogeshwar Gupta has filled up his form as Chairman of the Udhampur Municipal Council as BJP candidate yesterday. The party has a strength of nine members two short of magic figure of 11.
