Srinagar, Mar 31: Police have booked National Conference (NC) leader and former District and Sessions Judge Syed Tauqeer for inciting violence against Forest department.
Police has filed a case (FIR No. 7/19 U/S 116, 506, 153 RPC) against the former Judge at police station Larnoo area of district Anantnag.
The case was registered against him for inciting violence against Forest officials. He, while addressing a rally in Kokernag area of the district, had asked the people to chop off hands and feet of Forest department officials who oppose the construction of the road.
“I was told Forest officials are opposing the construction of your road. You have my permission. Anyone from the Government, Forest department who comes here again to oppose the road construction, cut their feet and arms,” Syed Tauqeer told people in his address last week.
“It will take us 2-3 months to form the Government. I am my party’s representative from here and if anyone from the department comes here and blocks the road, teach them a lesson and I can assure you no one will harm you,” Tauqeer said.
The former Judge joined the party a few weeks back and was welcomed into the party by NC vice president Omar Abdullah at Dak Bungalow, Anantnag.
