POONCH, Sept 18: Mohd Fareed displayed sharpness, skill, motor-ability and anticipation and claimed gold in 100 Mtrs sprint and 400 Mtrs race in the 2-day Inter-School Athletic Meet which got underway, here today.
Imran Khan bagged silver in this category, while Yaar Mohd clinched bronze.
The Meet is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the supervision of Mohd Ayaz Khan, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Poonch.
In 200 Mtrs, Ravneet Singh, Anayat Ullah Khan and Yaar Mohd claimed gold, silver and bronze medal respectively, while 400 Mtrs gold went to Mohd Fareed, while Irfan Mahmood and Royal Qasim bagged silver and bronze respectively.
In 800 Mtrs, gold, silver and bronze medal went to Tahir Ahmed, Mohd Abass and Ishtiaq Ahmed respectively, while in 1500 Mtrs race, Mahmood Ahmed and Ishtiaq Ahmed bagged gold and silver respectively.
In 3000 Mtrs, Mohd Yaseen claimed gold, while in 5000 Mtrs, Mohd Saleem clinched gold.
Shot put, long jump and discus throw gold medals went to Mohd Ajaz, Royal Qureshi and Tariq Mahmood respectively.
The Meet was officiated by Narjeet Singh, Surinder Singh, Kewal Krishan, RS Toofan and Neeraj Sharma.
Meanwhile, Inter-School Athletic Meet, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports concluded at Government Higher Secondary School Samba today.
MLA Samba, Yash Paul Kundal was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed prizes among the winners in various events.
The Meet was held under the supervision of Jarpal Singh, DYSSO, Samba.
Vijay Kumar and Begum were declared best athletes in Under-14 boys and girls section respectively, while in Under-17 category, Liyaqat Ali and Sapna Devi were declared best athletes, while in Under-19 boys and girls, Ajay Kumar and Rimpy Sharma were adjudged best athletes.
