Far flung areas to be electrified on priority :Vikar

BANIHAL, May 19: Minister of State for Technical Education, Information, Power, CAPD, Vikar Rasool today conducted extensive tour of far flung area of Soomber in tehsil Banihal.
The Minister, while interacting with deputations at various places, said that the Government is abreast with the problems being faced by the people living in hilly and far-flung areas of the State and every care is being taken to address the same within the shortest possible time.
He informed the public that electrification of the Soomber area will be completed during the current year and examination centre for 10th class to be started at High School Soomber. He also sanctioned kerosene oil depot for the area.
Vikar directed the administration to ensure engagement of local youth in ongoing railway project in the area as per their skills and education. He asked the ACD to start the construction work of ration store at Soomber as early as possible.
Earlier, local representatives apprised the minister of demands and problems which include up gradation of High school Soomber to Higher Secondary, new water supply schemes, electrification of un covered areas, kerosene oil depot, ration store building, road connectivity from Soomber to Kholi to Maranch, clearance of compensation cases and shortage of staff in school.
ADC, Ramban, Bashir Ahmed Khan, ACD, Sleem Malik, TSO, officer of different department Panches, sarpanches and prominent citizens of the area also present on the occasion.
