Family attacked near Samba Chowk

SAMBA, July 7: A rival gang attacked another party at Samba Chowk with Lathis this afternoon when the latter was returning from Court complex in connection with a case.

As per reports, the party which was returning from Court Complex in connection of a case after reaching the Samba Chowk near Mansar Mode started suddenly shouting for help.

People nearby alerted the police. Upon receiving the information, SHO Samba, Parvez Khande along with his team arrived at the spot to ascertain the situation. Click here to watch video

The vehicle's windows were shattered, and it was damaged on both sides. Speaking to reporters, a family member, Mushtaq Ali, stated that they had come to the Samba Court in connection with a case. While returning, individuals from Sarore Adda attacked them with sticks and fled. He alleged they also fired on the vehicle and one bullet hit the tyre which busted.

He alleged that the attackers arrived in five vehicles and abducted his minor cousin. The victims have shared the names of some individuals with the police and stated that they could identify the others as well.

They alleged that while they suspected their vehicle was being tailed, they were unaware that they would be attacked with gunfire. No one was injured in the incident.

However SSP Samba, Anuj Kumar denied that firing took place. He said the two parties have old rivalry and today one party attacked the other with lathis but no gun shot was fired.

He said police has registered a case and is investigating the matter.

SHO Samba said that on the reaching the Chowk near NH towards from the Court Complex one party was attacked by the rival gang as they have old enmity and the victims alleged that they were fired upon as the tyre of their vehicle has received a small cut. The party also alleged their vehicle was broken. He said the victim party has already a case in the court for the hearing of which they had visited the Court complex. The Samba police has registered a case under section 191/226 and started investigation.
