Excise & Taxation recovers Rs 8060 as fine

UDHAMPUR, Mar 24: Excise and Taxation sleuths today conducted a surprise check of vehicles and recovered a fine of Rs 8060 from the toll evaders.
In order to tighten the noose around violators of  various provisions of the J&K Levy of Toll Act and rules thereof, the Excise sleuths from Udhampur- Reasi Range,  led by  Excise and Taxation Officer,  Suresh Sharma,  laid a  naka on Jammu- Srinagar National highway at Thanda Paddar NH 44 to check the toll evasion.
The naka was laid on the directions of Excise Commissioner J&K, Mohd Javed Khan and under the active supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner, Jammu, Ganshyam Singh.
As many as 115 vehicles were put to check and an amount of Rs 8060 were  recovered as fine from toll evaders.
