Samba, Nov 18: A meeting of Zila Sainik Welfare Board was held today under the chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner Samba Sheetal Nanda. Col. S.S Pathania, Zila Sainik Welfare Board Officer gave resume of the functioning of the board.
It was informed that the board will organize more awareness programmes for increasing coverage of Sainik Welfare schemes for the welfare and settlement of Ex-servicemen, their dependents and war widows.
Col. S.S Pathania presented the Action Taken report of last Board meeting and agenda points for the meeting. He disclosed that a link for ZSWO Samba website will be provided in the District Samba website with regular updates for the users.
The ex-servicemen present in the meeting apprised district administration about their various demands like periodic cleanliness of water tanks, proper functioning of lights along National Highway in the town, construction of approach road to stadium, shifting of Bus Stand and formation of sewage plan for the town.
The DC assured that all possible efforts will be made to address issues raised by the members. She directed GM DIC to hold interactive session with industry representatives for exploring the option of providing jobs to ex-servicemen and their wards. She also directed revenue officials to issue daughter marriage certificates on priority.
The meeting among others was attended by ADDC Samba Vivek Sharma, ADC Samba Pawan Sharma,GM DIC Krishan Lal, Admn. Commandant Kuldeep Yadav and Ex-servicemen.
