JAMMU, Sept 15: Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association (ECPFWA) has demanded restoration of pension benefit scheme and martyr status.
Addressing a press conference, DK Chauhan General Secretary of the Association has demanded restoration of pension benefits scheme (old pension scheme under CCS pension) rules 1972 for post 2004 personnel.
“The Government had introduced the New Pension Scheme (NPS) to the civil employees joining Government service after January 2004 and BSF has also been combined with the civil employees”, he said, adding that the duty of the BSF is very tough and deserve restoration of the scheme as applicable to defence service.
He also demanded exemption of GST and functioning of WARB at district level under supervision of registered pensioners associations. “Presently WARB is formed which is not effective since the service of the WARB are not properly beneficial for pensioners. The duties of the WARB and propose for pensioners are required to be examined”, he added.
He also demanded martyr status. “Martyr status is not being given to CPMFS so far. All facilities should be provided to CPMFS at par with Army and equal incentives”, he added.
He said that it is the time to restore status of BSF for OROP as the BSF personnel are performing their duties for the security of nation at par with other security forces.
