JAMMU, June 4: A meeting of Channi Himmat Residents Association was today held under the chairmanship of its President, V.K Grover in which participating members expressed anguish over the poor water supply in the area for the last couple of years.
Speakers in the meeting said that contaminated water is being supplied to Channi Himmat area and that too for just 20-25 minutes a day for which there is no timing.
They also said that all this is happening despite the assurance by PHE to J&K High Court on a PIL filed by the Association.
Association members claimed that leaking PHE pipes have worsened the situation by causing extensive damage to roads in the colony.
In a handout the Association stated that they have sent a representation through email to A.S Sahu, Commissioner/ Secretary PHE requesting for redressal of their grievances after the authorities in PHE turned a deaf ear towards repeated requests on Channi Himmat residents in this regard.
