JAMMU, May 24: Electrical Employees Union organised a day long conclave in which hundreds of employees participated.
Various employees addressed the conclave and emphasized that the employees of PDD are suffering for their promotion prospects from over a decade and due to this, the departmental recruitment rules viz SRO-381 of 1981 have not been amended for last more than thirty years.
They said that these departmental rules of 1981 have become ineffective as being stand still. On the other side there has been considerable incumbency in the department by way of direct recruitment from 1998 onwards on the post/designation which do not even exit in the SRO-381 of 1981 viz departmental recruitment rules neither these designation viz tech-III category posts created vide Government order number 129 of 1997 have been incorporated in these departmental recruitment rules so far.
They added that there are some orders issued by the Government from time to time relating to the promotion/recruitment of employees of J&K which directly concern the employees of PDD but could not be implemented due to non-incorporation of these Government orders in SRO-381of 1981 viz departmental recruitment rules.
They demanded for incorporation of all these SROs/GOs (SRO-59, SRO-149, SRO-99, SRO-27, SRO-82, GO-270 and GO-134) in the SRO-381 of 1981 viz departmental recruitment rules with reduction of qualifying service in present grade of each category of post by 4 years for short timely promotion to their next higher post in respect of employees of the department.
They added that the amendment in SRO-381 of 1981 needs also to the extend that ratios of promotion to ITI and non-ITI categories to be made 50:50 to each category of post from the lowest grade of 2550-3200 PR to 5000-8000 PR.
They also stressed for implementation of SRO-59 by the DPC Jammu on the analogy of DPC Kashmir.
While speaking, State president of the union Mir Abdul Salam Rajpuri impressed upon the competent authorities to fulfill all these genuine demands within month otherwise the employees of PDD shall launch agitation.
Among others present were Deepak Tandon, provincial president, Sanjay Kumar Sharma, secretary, Jatinder Sharma, office secretary-cum-cashier, Babu Ram, senior vice president, Rakesh Gupta and Ajay Nand, vice presidents, Reshpal Chand, joint secretary, Ghulam Mohammad Malik, organizer, Jagjeet Singh, press secretary and Desh Raj Rathore, advisor.
