JAMMU, Nov 21: On the directions of the Managing Director and Chief Engineer, officials of JPDCL conducted surprise inspection in several areas and disconnected electric connections of defaulting consumers, whose outstanding arrears were not cleared.
Under the direct supervision of Er PD Singh, Executive Engineer, Jammu team of the officials of Electric Sub Division-I, JPDCL, Gandhi Nagar conducted the inspection drive. 26 numbers of domestic and commercial installations were disconnected due to nonpayment of dues.
The amount recovered during this drive is Rs 4.90 lakh. Areas where inspection drive was carried out, included Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Channi Himmat, Transport Nagar and adjoining localities.
In a handout, the JPDCL has once again appealed the consumers to clear outstanding/arrear amount if any at the earliest to avoid disconnections.
