JAMMU, Nov 8: Davinder Choudhary has been elected as president of Taxi Operators Union , Railway Station Jammu as annual elections of the body were held.
In a triangular contest, he defeated his nearest rival Anchal Singh Manhas with a margin of 100 votes. Out of 507 votes, Davinder Choudhary secured 300 votes while Anchal Singh and Rajinder Singh were polled 200 and 4 votes, respectively. Three votes were declared invalid.
Surinder Singh was elected as vice-president as he defeated Ravinder with a margin of 97 votes in straight contest for the post.
Sanjay Sharma and Dalbir Singh were elected for the post of general secretary. Sanjay Sharma defeated Sudershan Sharma with a margin of 73 votes while Dalbir Singh won by a margin of 90 votes.
The annual election of the Taxi Operators Union was held under the supervision of Naib Tehsildar, South, M H Malik while Ranjeet Singh acted as the Election Chairman and Rakesh Sharma was Chief Electoral Officer.
