REASI, Sept 26: An elderly man was attacked by a leopard and left critically injured near his house at Kotli Manotrian, here this morning even as the wild beast was later captured by the Wildlife Department officials.
The injured, identified as Nasib Chand (70), son of Chatri, resident of Kotli Manotrian, was rushed to district hospital Reasi for treatment and his condition was stated to be stable.
Reports said that the leopard suddenly attacked Nasib Chand when he was walking near his house. As the victim raised an alarm and resisted the attack, some nearby villagers rushed towards the spot following which the wild cat released the victim and ran away to nearby forest area.
On being informed by the villagers, the Wildlife Department officials also reached the area after some time and captured the leopard.
