JAMMU, June 16: A pedestrian died today in a hit and run case in Pounichak area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, Chanda Ram (70) son of Mant Ram, resident of Sari Basti sustained serious injuries, when an unidentified car hit him at Sari, this morning. The car driver fled from the spot along with vehicle, leaving the elderly man injured.
The injured man was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries at about 11.55 am. After conducting post mortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
The concerned police had registered a case in this connection and started investigation.
