Eight residential houses damaged in fire

Srinagar, Oct 26: Police today said eight residential houses were damaged in separate fire incidents in Kashmir valley.
A police spokesman said fire broke out in the shop of Mohammad Amin Bhat, at Issu village of Achabal in Anantnag district. The fire also engulfed two adjacent shops, resulting in damage to all the shops, he said, adding that the fire was brought under control by fire tenders.
Meanwhile, fire broke out in joint residential house of Tariq Ahmad Sheikh and Bilal Ahmad Sheikh here in Batwara area. The fire also engulfed four adjacent residential houses of Ali Mohammad Sheikh, Tariq Ahmad Bhat, Ghulam Qadir Gojree and Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, resulting in damage to all the structures. Fire was brought under control by fire tenders, the spokesman added.
He said the fire broke out in Cotton Shop of Irshad Ahmad Ganaie at Sandoo village of Achabal in Anantnag district, resulting in damage to the shop. The fire engulfed nearby residential houses of the said person and Mohammad Akbar Ganaie, resulting in damage to both the structures, he said, adding that the fire was brought under control by fire tenders. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in these incidents.
