*Horizon Club lifts title trophy

JAMMU, Nov 22: Horizon Cricket Club trounced Vridhi Royals by 12 runs in a thrilling contest and lifted 8th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Championship played at KC Sports Club Cricket Ground, here today.
Earlier, in the summit clash, Horizon Club won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 159 runs by losing eight wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Vivrant top scored with 58 runs while Piyush and Kaniya contributed 28 & 15 runs respectively. From bowling side, Gourav was the pick of the bowlers, who took four wickets while Sachin bagged two wickets and Jasbir and Archit claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Vridhi Royals failed to chase the target and scored 147 in 20 overs by losing seven wickets, thus lost the match by 12 runs. Jasveer played a good innings of 42 runs, while Smarpit made 32 runs and Anshul scored 20 runs. For Horizon Club, Shubam and Vivrant took two wickets each while Sukha and Santbaksh claimed one wicket each.
Vivrant of Horizon XI was adjudged Man of the Match in the final match and Man of the Series for his excellent performance with bat and ball during the tournament while Gourav Sharma and Smarpit of Vridhi Royals were declared as Best Bowler & Best Batsman .
The championship was organized by members of ICA in association with KC Sports Club and supported by Horizon Club, Game Changer Sports Club, Samar Sports Club, Vridhi Royals and JK Service Station Rajouri.
Shahid Parvez, senior cricketer was the chief guest whereas Sanjay Sharma, SP Rural Jammu was the guest of honour.
Earlier, Rajesh Gill former Ranji Player & organizing secretary of the event presented a detailed report about the ten day long tournament and objective of the tournament. He also announced that more cricket events will be conducted in near future with the support of Indian Cricket Association at Jammu.
The chief guest lauded the efforts of the organizers in conducting this mega event. He also appreciated the title “Let’s celebrate all the festivals together: Let’s strive for communal harmony & oneness”.
The final match was officiated by JD Singh, Ashok Kumar and Dinesh Kumar whereas the proceedings of the valediction function was conducted by Rajesh Bakshi and vote of thanks was presented by Sudhir Singh member organizing committee.
