The district administration today ordered closure of all educational institutions in Hiranagar and Marheen area for indefinite period from tomorrow in the wake of ongoing heavy shelling along the international border.
“In view of heavy shelling along the international border in Hiranagar sector, the district administration has ordered that all Government and private educational institutions in Hiranagar and Marheen zones shall remain closed from January 6 till further orders,” Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary said here today.
He said that the examination and assessment papers scheduled for this period shall be treated as postponed and fresh date shall be notified separately.
After a day-long lull, Pakistani Rangers today violated ceasefire again by targeting border posts in Kathua and Samba sectors, drawing retaliation from BSF. (AGENCIES)
