JAMMU, Aug 19: Different Schools celebrated Janmashtami with religious fervour and devotion by organising different cultural programs, here today.
Lord Mahavira Playway School Shiv Nagar Jammu celebrated the pious festival of Janmashtami with reverence and devotion by organising a special assembly wherein the divinity of Lord Krishna was venerated through mesmerizing shlokas, bhajans, dances and poetic rendition. The tiny tots dressed up in traditional Radha Krishna attire enthralled the audience through their performances.
The Janmashtami was celebrated by the Pre Primary Wing of Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua with mirth and joy. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, Dr Vishaka Sharma, Principal APS Janglot along with Mili R Sumbria, Principal Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua and others prominent persons including Assistant Prof Dr Neha Bandral, Manju Pathania (Govt.Teacher), Anuradha (Govt teacher), Shalini Mehra (Sub Insp. Excise & Taxation) and Parveen Kumari, Monika Sharma, coordinator and Preeti, deputy coordinator.
Dewan Devi Playway/ Higher Secondary School celebrated Janmashtami with great enthusiasm wherein the students performed various cultural programmes besides breaking of ‘Dahi-Handi’ competition was also organised among the students. School Principal, Seloni Suri in her address advised the students to perform their role best to serve the Nation and become good citizens of the soil.
