More educational institutions celebrate Children’s Day

JAMMU, Nov 15: More educational institutions celebrated the 125th birth anniversary of Jawahar Lal Nehru as Children’s Day.
National College of Education celebrated Children’s Day with enthusiasm, gaiety and fervor. The programme began with lightening of traditional lamp followed by welcome address by Principal Neena Sharma. Ajay Jamwal Dean Administration was the chief guest, who while speaking inspired the students to have moral values. A colourful cultural programme was presented by students.
Jawahar Lal Nehru’s birthday was celebrated in IECS Polytechnic, Purkhoo Camp, Domana. A cleanliness campaign was launched on the occasion. Principal Prof KG Gupta threw light on the life and teachings of Pandit Nehru. The students recited Bhajans and patriotic songs. Students also carried on a drive to keep the institution and its surrounding free from any filer and litter. Others present were Er Ajay Singh Jamwal, Dean Administration, Er Sonia Kohli, Asha Verma, Er Opinder Kour and other faculty members.
Delhi Public School, Jammu celebrated Children’s Day, in which staff and students took part. A special assembly was organized on the occasion. Thoughts, speeches were also held, followed by musical tributes by the Music Department of the school. Additional Director/Principal Dr D Joseph, Ruchi Chabra, Headmistress, DPS Jammu and Meenu Gupta, Headmistress upto middle wing were also present.
Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar celebrated Children’s Day. The programme started with lightning of traditional lamp by the Principal Sr Rosamma, Manager and head girls of the three wings of the school. A special assembly was conducted by the teachers, which started with prayer. Prayer was followed by dances and Bal Mela. A special flavour added to the Bal Mela was lucky draw, which was won by Bhavya, Tanmiya and Himanshi.
To pay tributes to Chacha Nehru, Universal Children’s Day celebration concludes in Crescent Public School, Janipur. Crescent Petals, the Playway presented a fancy dress show, while as primary wing performed fashion show and middle and higher wing organized a cleanliness drive ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyaan’. Chairman Arshad Ali Chowdhary, Managing Director Tasneem Chowdhary and Director Imran Chowdhary also took part in this drive. On the occasion, the students also visited SOS Orphanage, Gole Gujral and distribute food items. The whole programme was organized by the staff members of the school including Rekha Sharma and Meenakshi Handoo.
KV Sunjuwan organized cluster level quiz competition to commemorate the birth Anniversary of Jawahar Lal Nehru. The chief guest on the occasion was the Principal of the Vidyalaya Manish Tuli. Suman Samyal, Headmistress addressed the students and threw light on the life of Chacha Nehru. Children presented colourful dance item and recited the poems. Among nine schools, KV Hiranagar won the Ist prize where as KV Sunjuwan stood 2nd and 3rd position was bagged by KV No 1 Gandhi Nagar. All the participants were given prizes and incentives.
Ranjit Memorial Public High School Barnai celebrated 125th birth anniversary of Jawahar Lal Nehru as Annual Sports Day. Main attraction of the celebration was skit presented by the 10th class based on the theme “Girl Child not a Liability but a Pride”. Cultural items along with the Sports like sac race, three leg race, 200m race and hurdle race were also held. Many speakers spoke on the life and teachings of Jawahar Lal Nehru. The function was presided over by the SS Jamwal, while as Krishna Jamwal and Principal of the school Parveen Aziz were also present.
To celebrate the 125th Birth anniversary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, a colourful cultural programme was organized in the premises of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bakshi Nagar. The students of the school threw light on the life and the ideology of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. Speaking on the occasion the Principal of the school Kamla Kumari enlightened the students regarding the freedom struggle and role of Chacha Nehru in the freedom struggle. Various sports activities were also organized, followed by rangoli and painting competitions.
Staff and students of Love Bird Public School, Patel Nagar celebrated Children’s Day. Students expressed their love for Chacha Nehru through speeches, poems recitation, songs, dances and group songs. Principal of the school threw light on the life of Jawahar Lal Nehru.
Mount Litera Zee School organised a field trip to Hotel 17 Miles Vijaypur to celebrate Children’s Day. Principal Mili R Sumbria alongwith, Monika, Coordinator, Kidzee, Romy Sharma, Cultural Head, Romy Kumar, senior teacher, all faculty members and students were also present. The students watched “Jungle Run” movie screened at 5D theatre, played different fun filled games, had fully elaborated and extremely delicious three course meal with the finest cuisines offered by the Chef. During this trip, the students also learned group work, inculcated social values and etiquettes while having fun in a more informal environment.
Department of Pediatrics, Government Medical College Jammu, in collaboration with CANKIDS celebrated Children’s Day with the children with cancer at SMGS Hospital Jammu. Prof Ghanshayam Dev, Principal and Dean, Government Medical College Jammu was the chief guest. Prof Rekha Harish, Head of Department Pediatrics, presented welcome address. Dr Sonam and Dr Harkirat, Pediatric Residents demonstrated the steps of Personal/Hand hygiene practices to the parents and children with cancer. The cancer survivors also recited songs and poems.
