DSS demands funds for expediting conservation of Mubarak Mandi Complex

JAMMU, Apr 17: As J&K Government decided to defer Durbar Move and allow functioning of Civil Secretariat both at Jammu and Srinagar, Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) demanded that savings likely to accrue as a result of this decision be utilized to meet immediate medical needs like short supply of oxygen etc to deal with the current spike in COVID cases in J&K.
Addressing a press conference, here today Gulchain Singh Charak, president DSS demanded more funds for expediting the conservation and reuse of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex, where the heritage structures situated on the Tawi river side of the complex is in imminent danger and likely to suffer damage in coming monsoons unless immediate measures are not taken for stabilizing of slopes supporting these structures.
In a resolution DSS requested the Lieutenant Governor to expedite the implementation of proposals contained in the conservation plan for Mubarak Mandi in toto which envisages holding of laser shows, light and sound programmes and cultural activities depicting glorious Dogra history and culture, besides the display galleries in the proposed museums and historical archival records in the restored heritage buildings of the complex.

Balwinder Singh, Madan Rangeela, Chhankar Singh, Rajinder Gupta and Dr. V.S Sharma.
