Drug peddling gang busted, 3 arrested with ganja

JAMMU, Apr 14: Akhnoor Police busted drugs peddling gang with the arrest of three persons along with 320 grams ganja.
As per police sources, during checking, a team from Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Inspector Hilal Azhar apprehended a person and recovered ganja from his possession. The apprehended person was identified as Shabir Ansar, son of Jahur Miya of Bihar.
On further enquiry, he revealed that he had procured the said drug from Muneer Ansari, son of Fatinga Ansari of Bihar and Sunil Rajat, son of Manager Rajat of Uttar Pradesh.
All the three accused persons were arrested and 320 grams ganja was recovered from their possession. It was also revealed that the trio were involved in sale of drugs particularly targeting the workers and labourers.
Accordingly, a case under FIR Number 101/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
Police has issued stern warning against those involved in drugs peddling and appealed to public to share information so that necessary action under law can be taken.
