SRINAGAR, May 30: Police today claimed to have apprehended a drug peddler on Mughal Road in Shopian and recovered 12 kgs of cannabis powder from him.
A police spokesman said Mushtaq Ahmed Mir, son of Ghulam Qadri Mir, resident of Herpora was taken into custody after police intercepted him at Herpora Bazar on the Mughal Road.
“Upon searching the bag, police recovered 12 kgs of cannabis powder from it. An FIR no. 26/14 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered against him,” the spokesman said.
