JAMMU, June 11: Tightening noose around the operators who violate Motor Vehicle norms, flying squad of Regional Transport Authority Jammu today conducted checking of commercial vehicles and challaned the violators .
Flying squad comprising of ARTO Rehana Tabassum and MVI Anupam Gandotra, laid nakas at various locations on Bye Pass Sidhra road and challaned more than 70 vehicles under various Sections of MV Act. A fine of Rs 16000 was realized on the spot from the defaulters.
The inspection team also warned the drivers and conductors to strictly adhere to their routes as per the permits issued by the RTO. They were also asked to display and paste a farechart inside the vehicles besides reserving few seats for females for convenience of the general public.
