Driver killed as tanker plunges into gorge

RAMBAN, Apr 5: A driver died when a gas tanker he was driving, plunged into a gorge in Banihal area.
“A tanker bearing registration number HR55H-9448 of Bharat Petroleum, which was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar, this morning met with an accident near Chambalwas when it fell into a 100-feet deep Shalgari Nallah, falling within the jurisdiction of police station Banihal,” police sources here said.
They said the driver identified as Mohammad Younis (35), son of Abdul Ahad, a resident of Saaki (Rajouri) died on the spot. The body of the deceased was shifted to Banihal hospital, where after completing all medico-legal formalities, it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
