SAMBA, July 29: One person died in a collision between two vehicles outside the Radha Swami Ashram area of Vijaypur in district Samba today.
According to the Police, the mishap took place at Jammu -Pathankot National Highway outside the Radha Swami Ashram near 17 Miles of Vijaypur, when a Mahindra load carrier bearing registration number JK08G- 5764 moving towards Jammu side from Kathua, on reaching near the Ashram suddenly collided with an unknown vehicle which was coming from opposite direction, as a result the driver of the Mahindra load carrier died o spot.
After the people heard the sound of collision of two vehicles they immediately rushed to the spot and started rescue operation and got out the driver from the vehicle and rushed him to Emergency Hospital Vijaypur for treatment but the doctor declared him as brought dead.
The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of Community Health Centre Ramgarh for autopsy. After completion the legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handover to the legal heirs for his last rites.
The deceased has been identified as Vicky Manhas, 28, son of Sham Singh resident of village Kamila (Utter Behni).
In this regard police has taken cognizance of the matter and started further investigations.
The other vehicle fled from the spot.
