JAMMU, July 5: Jhajjar Kotli Police arrested a driver and his helper along with 14.5 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station led by SHO Rajesh Khajuria and PSI Rajat Mangotra laid a naka near Suketar and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB06N-2355.
During checking, police team recovered 14.5 kilograms of poppy straw (bhukki) from the vehicle and arrested the driver along with his helper.
The arrested persons were identified as Jasvinder Singh, son of Puran Singh and Jagpreet Singh, son of Balvinder Singh of Gurdaspur Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 120/2020 under Section 8/15/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
The arrest of the accused and recovery of consignment was made under supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma and SP Rural Suram Singh.
