JAMMU, Mar 7: Dr SS Soodan, a noted Jammu based doctor, has been elected president of Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD), an affiliate of Nobel Peace Prize winner International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW).
Dr Soodan was elected for the post during 10th annual national conference of IDPD held at Patna, recently. The conference was attended by delegates of IPPNW including delegates from various countries including Germany, Japan, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Nepal, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Mongolia.
Dr Soodan is a leading eye specialist of J&K. While speaking on the occasion, he stressed upon the need for achieving peace and development through global healthcare.
