JAMMU, Sept 25: In a selfless gesture, son of the soil, Dr Shakti Kumar Gupta, Medical Superintendent Dr Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences and Estate Officer AIIMS New Delhi, has donated an amount of Rs 51,000 to the Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund. Dr Gupta, was recently awarded State Award and equal amount by the State Government as an honour for outstanding public service,
He handed over the cheque himself to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah while visiting the State as member of the Central Team deputed by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to assess the damage to the infrastructure of Tertiary Care Healthcare Facilities in the State.
Dr Shakti Gupta said that he believes in serving his State through his actions and not by words and the biggest contribution for him is to see his State’s population in good health and prosperity.
He voiced concern over the losses incurred by the State’s population in these floods and has assured that the current status of the impacted State Hospitals shall be communicated to the Central Government with an aim that the Central assistance being provided not only meets the immediate but medium to long term needs of the State as well.
